About Us

Verde Valley Rentals (VVR) began in 1976 as a small equipment rental store located at 1421 East Birch St in Cottonwood. Ross & MaryAnn Willoughby purchased the store in 1979 and promptly expanded to a new building at 403 South 6th St.  The business was primarily construction equipment, homeowner tools, and automotive equipment. Moving truck rentals (at the time, Ryder, now Budget Trucks) were added to serve the growing community need.  Into the late 1980’s & 1990’s VVR grew with the new special event industry, adding tables & chairs and misc wedding supplies.  Inventory continued to expand until the 6th Street building was no longer able to accommodate both industries.  In 2010, the decision was made to separate the special event business from general tools & construction. Verve Events & Tents at 740 Airpark Way in Cottonwood was born. With the special event inventory moved out of the 6th St building, space was now available to fill another growing need, Budget Car Rentals.

Verde Valley Rentals on 6th Street is now managed by Scott Willoughby, Ross & MaryAnn’s son.  Verve Events & Tents is now managed by Krysta Willoughby & Philip Gornick; Ross & MaryAnn’s daughter & son-in-Law.

Keeping the Willoughby family values of helpful friendly service with quality rental products remains at the forefront of all we do.

 

Policies

If I don't know what equipment I need, will someone help me?
Yes! Tell us about your project and one of our rental professionals will recommend the best equipment for the job, and often provide you with a few helpful hints to make your job easier.

What do I need to rent equipment from Verde Valley Rentals?
You will need a valid Arizona driver's license and we require full payment prior to taking equipment.

Can I reserve equipment in advance?
We invite you to reserve equipment in advance to insure availability. Reserve your equipment as early as possible. Please cancel your reservation a minimum of 7 days prior if your plans change. Reservations are gladly taken over the phone.

Will someone show me how to use the equipment I rent?
Our rental service techs will show you the safe and correct operation of the equipment that you rent. It will be started for you before it is loaded into your vehicle, or when it is delivered, and any questions you have will be answered.

What do I do if the equipment doesn’t work?

Call us immediately at 928-634-7939. If there is no answer, leave a message and we’ll get back to you. This call will document your problem and we will work with you to make sure you are taken care of.

Can I buy a piece of equipment that I have rented?
All of our rental equipment is for sale at any time. Our used equipment is a great buy because we maintain it so that it is always ready to rent. When a piece of equipment can stand up to tough rental use, then you can be sure it is durable and easy-to-maintain. If you want to buy the actual piece of equipment that you have rented, we will apply a portion of the rental charges toward the purchase price.

Rental Rates and Fees:
Equipment rental periods vary from the hour, day, week or multi week period. One day's rent is up to a 24 hour period. Example -- If you rent equipment for a one day period at 10 a.m. one day, then it is due for return by 10 a.m. the next day. If you rent the equipment for a week on Monday at noon, it is due to be returned before the next Monday at noon. Ask about your specific item for details.

Special Rental Rates:
Equipment rented on Saturday can be returned by 9 am Monday for a one day charge. Equip rented after 4pm Monday-Friday may be returned by 9am the following day for the minimum charge. This rate is restricted to equipment for which a 3 hour rental rate is available. Metered equipment may have additional rate requirements. 

Your prompt return of equipment will save you money.

Payment and Charges - Renting Equipment - All Types:
Rentals fees are collected in advance, when you pick up, or upon delivery of equipment. We accept cash (no cash payments accepted for delivered equipment), approved personal and business checks, Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. Commercial Accounts are available, ask for details.

Do you keep my credit card information on file?
We do not keep credit card information on file. Given the complex nature of the rental transaction, we believe it is safer for our customers if we gather valid credit card information only at the time of each transaction.

Can I open a commercial charge account?
We welcome commercial and governmental accounts. Call for details. Your application will be carefully considered. Please allow up to five business days for processing.

Delivery and Pick Up:
Delivery and pick up service is available at an additional charge. Charges are based on the distance from our stores to the delivery site. We will give you an exact quote for delivery and pickup charges when you place your order. Please be available by phone during scheduled windows of delivery and pick up.

Delivery and Pick Up Scheduling During Business Hours:
At our standard delivery charges, all delivery/pickup times are scheduled in 1/2 day windows. The morning window is from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The afternoon window is from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m.

Preparation of Equipment for Pick up:
All rental equipment must be cleaned and staged where it was dropped off.

The equipment must be ready for pick up during the scheduled time window. If the equipment is not ready for pick up during the scheduled window, an additional trip will be required. The charge will be a one way standard delivery rate for each unsuccessful attempt at pick up. You are responsible for the security and care of the equipment until it has been picked up.

Delivery and Pick UpScheduling Outside of Normal Business Hours:
Deliveries and pick ups before or after business hours or on Sunday are available for additional charges, call for details.

Same Day Delivery and Pick Up:
Same day delivery and pick up is available if our delivery schedule for that day allows. You must inform us of this need at the time the delivery is scheduled. If our schedule does not allow for same day pick up, we will pick up the following day at no extra charge.
